  • Class description:

    Students acquire knowledge about crucial economical and civilisational processes from the time of geographical discoveries to the beginning of 21st century and principles of periodisation as well as stages of economical and civilisational development. Students learn about development of technique and technology, origins of new forms of production, transport and exchange, origins and development of capitalist market economy system and their impact on societal and civilisational change. Students learn about specifics of ages: preindustrial, industrial and postindustrial.

    Students understand the importance of connections between political, economical, social and cultural phenomena in the process of development of industrial and postindustrial civilisation. He recognizes diversity and multidirectional character of this process, phenomenon of shifting of economical centers and their replication, growing impact of technique on individual and society and resulting consequences related to material and spiritual condition of people in specific ages and civilisations. Students understand terms and notions related to the subject of class.

    Students acquire the ability of collecting information, conducting interdisciplinary analysis of socio-economic problems, formulating conclusions, presenting and defending his theses. Student develops attitude of respect for different views and uses acquired knowledge and competences to explain and assess past and present socio-economic processes in a creative way.
