The candidate creates an individual account in the Online Admissions System by providing the necessary personal data. Subsequent admission-related operations can only be made after logging in to the created account. The candidate is obliged to keep the password to access the account secret.
The candidate chooses a program/major and type of study.
The candidate pays an admission procedure fee for the selected programs/majors. Failure to pay the fee for a given program means the candidate is not included in the selection procedure for this program. The enrollment fee is PLN 85.
The candidate with the documents obtained abroad attaches scans of these documents for their verification.
The candidate enters information about the Matura certificate and provides the results of the Matura exam.
The candidate uploads a high-resolution photo which will be used when generating the personal questionnaire. The photo of the admitted candidate will also be used in the student identification card.
Notice: if you do not upload a photo, the system will not be able to generate the questionnaire!
The candidate will receive a message via the Online Admissions System about the date, place, and time of the entrance exam. Failure to take the exam means the candidate is not admitted to the program.
The results of the selection procedure will be provided via the Online Admissions System. Upon logging in the candidate will see their score and the score required for admission as well as information on being selected or not being selected for admission.
A candidate selected for admission is obliged to lodge all required document scans, by electronic means, within the specified time limit and upon doing so is expected to take up studies in the program. Failure to lodge the required documents within the specified time limit means the candidate opts out of taking up the studies.
A candidate not selected for admission may lodge by electronic means, within the specified time limit, a declaration of willingness to take up studies. The declaration is submitted electronically via the Online Admissions System. A candidate who has maintained their willingness to take up studies may have their admission status changed. The candidate is obliged to monitor admission status on an ongoing basis.
The results of the selection procedure will be provided via the Online Admissions System.

Preparation of the documents
During the recruitment process, candidates do not submit any paper documents.
Each of the required documents should be scanned to a separate file in PDF format. A document (e.g. certificate or diploma) that has more than one page should be scanned into one multi-page PDF file.
Attestation of documents
Document attestation is a process in which an employee of the University confirms the compliance of the attached scans of documents with their original (paper) version. Attestation of the document by AMU consists in submitting (for inspection) the original document at the Student Office at the Faculty at the beginning of the academic year.

Recognition of Certificates - foreign certificates that entitle you to take up studies in the country issuing the document which do not require any formal requirements because they are recognised ipso jure (by operation of law):
1. Issued by a school or educational institution recognized by the state, operating on the territory or in the educational system of a member state of the European Union, a member state of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA)-European Economic Area, a member state of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
This applies to baccalaureate certificates obtained in the following countries:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, USA, United Kingdom.
2. International Baccalaureate (IB) Diplomas and European Baccalaureate (EB) Diplomas

If your certificate does not meet the above requirements you need to obtain an administrative decision issued by a competent educational officer („Kurator Oświaty”) which confirms your eligibility to apply to a university. For more detailed information, please contact the Board of Education in Poznan.
The semester tuition fee for each year of studies is: PLN 2 000,00 (the fee can be paid in 4 installments of PLN 500,00 each).
The tuition fee for an academic year is PLN 4 000,00.
As a general rule, you would need a visa to enter Poland. However, foreigners from a number of countries are exempted from a visa requirement when entering the Schengen Area for periods not exceeding 90 days within a 180-day period: One can check the list of the countries ie here: list
Poland is a part of the Schengen Area, so you can apply for a Polish visa and travel all around Europe Union countries.
5 easy steps to get a visa
1) Find a Polish Consulate/ consular section of the Embassy that can process your application.
2) Read carefully ALL the information concerning visa application on the consulate’s website and follow ALL the instructions.
3) Set a visa appointment with the consulate.
4) Prepare the necessary documents, including the application form, travel document (passport), biometric photo, health insurance, sufficient means to support yourself, and documents confirming the purpose of your stay. The specifics of the required documentation may vary among consulates, so confirm them with the consulate’s website.
5) Submit all the documents including a printed and signed application form and the visa fee. Your visa application is complete.
Early submission of visa documents is advisable as in some cases procedure may take a considerable amount of time.

Documents confirming having health insurance:
Provide the original of the insurance agreement for inspection, along with current confirmation of payment of monthly contributions (from the day of the conclusion of the agreement until the day you receive your decision for residence permit).
Contributions for each calendar month are paid by the 15th day of the next month for the previous month.
Health insurance policies concluded in languages other than Polish should be translated into Polish by a sworn translator. The originals of both - the health insurance agreement and the certified translation should be presented for inspection.
Such insurance policy must cover the costs of medical care in Poland (medical assistance and hospital care). Accident insurance does not constitute proof of insurance covering the costs of medical treatment in Poland. Note that the policy must be valid on the day the decision on granting a residence permit is issued.
If you pay by instalments, make sure to submit proof of payment (original for inspection).

A syllabus should be presented to you at the first class; you can find it later on the USOSweb system and at Sylabus AMU.
All candidates must have at least an A2-level command of English. It will be checked during a competency-based interview.
Academic year is split into two semesters:
Winter semester (October 1st, 2024 - February 3rd, 2025)
Summer semester (February 24th - June 17th, 2025)
There is an exam period at the end of each:
Midterm exams: February 4th - 17th, 2025
Re-examination: February 24th - March 2nd, 2025
Final exams: June 23rd - July 6th
Re-examination: September 1st - 14th, 2025
Every student has the right to retake an exam one time.

In the last year of your studies, you write your Bachelor Thesis which at the end you defend in front of your supervisor, reviewer, and lecturer who holds the title of professor.
The whole process of uploading thesis to the system can be complicated at first sight but don't worry! Here is the whole instruction: click.

The first year of your studies is already programmed, you join the regular classes.
In the second year, each semester, you can choose 4 subjects from the AMU-PIE Platform, EPICUR courses, Pracownia Pytań Granicznych, and Faculty of History.
In the third year, each semester, you will choose 3 subjects from the same subject areas you had available in the second year.
In 5th semester together with the lecturer you choose you make a research project. It allows you to work in the relation student and master. It also gives you an opportunity to allows you to deepen your individual research interests.
You can choose every destination that is offered by the Faculty of History. You can apply only through the USOSweb System when the enrollment period starts. The recruitment is usually in February/March, for both winter, summer, and whole year, you have to follow news from our faculty about the exact dates. As a student, you can spend 12 months at the mobility.

The Faculty of History at Adam Mickiewicz University was established on October 1, 2019, based on the Institute of History, which has been operating since 1956, and the Institute of Eastern Studies, which has been in existence since 1991.
