History

Liberal Arts and Sciences is not only an interdisciplinary program that opens up broad perspectives for students but also a unique opportunity to explore the roots of European culture. Through courses in history and classical languages, students can delve into the heritage that has shaped modern Europe.

The history of Europe is a fascinating narrative of political, social, and cultural transformations that, over the centuries, have influenced the world we know today. From antiquity, through the Middle Ages, to modern times – history courses help to understand better the processes that have impacted the development of ideas, institutions, and societies. The courses offered in history, across various semesters:

  • History of Europe and its Borders 
  • Fine Arts in the History of European Civilisation (30h) 
  • Economic Conditions of Civilization Development (30h)
  • History of Crucial Scientific Discoveries (30h) 

Languages

Courses in classical languages, such as Latin or Greek, open the way to directly engage with texts that have had a fundamental impact on literature, philosophy, and law. Learning classical languages provides access to the original works of ancient thinkers. The courses offered in classical languages:

  • Latin (60h)
  • Greek (60h)
